The first thing come out of my mind about introduction of business is about
some knowledge, theories, money and business. I believed that business
lesson is something based on data and economic concepts. But i was worry! The first lesson was about innovation. Robert gave some awesome examples of creative products.
This topic started my brain storming about creation. I evoked my future company and how i can be such success like other entrepreneur related to creative industry. Before taking about my future career, i would like to share some interesting think about my lecture. We were requested to make our own product by three random selected items. The product should be designed based on the three features of items. Our group got three items which are glue bottle, shovel, pen. Even though these three item are seen useless if we combine them all, they started our imagination to make it possible. Using the glue bottle as a container, shovel as a extractor, pen as a weapon, we created two useful and epic items instead of one.
The first product was made by shovel with the glue bottle. Glue bottle is the main body of the shovel. If anyone get lose in the forest or dessert, he can extract the groundwater by dipping. After the discovery of the water source, the glue bottle can be used to contain water inside.
The second product was using the fitting of a pen such as slingshot, pen refill, and pen. Actually, the idea is making a weapon like a gun by pen. Elasticity and thrust of slingshot are good enough to launch the arrow (pen refill) toward the target. It can be used to kill animals and people.
Although it sounds stupid, we had a really enjoyable moment in class. With the chance of idea sharing, i was impressed by some of the cool products from other class. They are just awesome.
Creative and innovation are really good. However, in my opinion, most of the inventions nowadays aren't user-friendly at all. For example, apple develop a fingerprint authentication on the Iphone. But it doesn't mean it will be welcome by the Iphone user. Why the technology is available in the market is the company has the technology, but they don't concern the real need of the customers. Another example is the TV programs of Hong Kong. Due to the limitation of the number of TV station, citizens are only allowed to watch the stupid TV shows produced by them. Audience don't have the right to choose their preferred one. Therefore, i am thinking of a company who can crow-funding a group of people with same need to make their own products. If it can be true, i think it can change the shopping style of the whole world.
